Venue Search – The Boring Details

Often in exhibitions the venue is the one thing you don’t choose. Be it the Excel Centre, London, RAI, Leeds or the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh – each come with their little idiosyncrasies and important things to remember from a stand design point of view. How level is the hall floor? How large are the shutter doors to the hall? At what heights are hanging structures allowed if any? Is the stand overlooked by an overhead balcony open to the public? Events – The Power of Context

Events, events… What is an event?  Is it a scheduled yearly gathering, a one off jamboree or an unforeseen surprise to excite and engage? As with many things in life – context is king. The great thing is about an event is it can quite easily mean all of the above and a lot more.

1st Prize – the kids are alright @ Birmingham NEC

It all started (for me at least) when Gavin Eddy business man, angel investor and all round good egg, asked me to help and advise a small group of talented 6th formers studying at Frome Community College. They had won the chance to exhibit their new product and business idea at Big Bang Fair 2015 hosted at the NEC, Birmingham in a 4 day extravaganza designed to showcase the talents of young scientists & engineers. We met on a handful of occasions and it soon became clear that the lads had some great ideas and a clear vision from the start.
